Story behind The Goddess of Fertility:
Sámi people believed this goddess looked after fertility and was involved with the same in regard to animals and plants in particular.
The Sámi people are one of the indigenous people of Scandinavia. Sami homeland reaches from Central Norway and Sweden through the northernmost part of Finland and into the Kola Peninsula. Culturally and economically, reindeer herding is the most important source of income for the Sami.
Living of the nature has formed the original conceptions of the world among Sámi; the world view was animistic by nature, with shamanistic features. They believed that all objects in the nature had a soul. Therefore, everybody was expected to move quietly in the wilderness; shouting and making disturbance was not allowed. This beautiful concept still prevails among the Sámi.
