Designed and made by Famous Scandinavian (Finnish) Designer Juha Janger. The quality IS Marvelous and obvious! Janger was named "The Goldsmith of the year" in 1995 by The Finnish Association of Goldsmiths. His work is known and highly respected all around Europe, Japan and Australia.




Janger has studied old shaman drums for this design honoring the rich heritage of Sami people. The Shaman's Drum was ceremonially used by Lapland shamans. The shaman beat the drum to call the spirits to his aid until he fell into a trance-state. While in trance, the shaman traveled to Hades, where the dead gave him advice on problem-solving. The drum-embellished designs represent, at the top, the sky, with the earth in the middle and underworld at the bottom. The shamans used the drum symbols to tell both the future and the will of the gods.




The Sámi people are one of the indigenous people of Scandinavia. There are over 75000 Sami in the Sami homeland, which reaches from Central Norway and Sweden through the northernmost part of Finland and into the Kola Peninsula. Culturally and economically, reindeer herding is the most important source of income for the Sami.

Living of the nature has formed the original conceptions of the world among Sámi; the world view was animistic by nature, with shamanistic features. They believed that all objects in the nature had a soul. Therefore, everybody was expected to move quietly in the wilderness; shouting and making disturbance was not allowed. This beautiful concept still prevails among the Sámi.


The Sun has always been a powerful symbol for people in North. During the summer months the Sun stays above the horizon and refuses to set until the fall comes. In Winter time arctic landscape never gets truly light... after few hours of dim blue light the day turns dark again following by magical Northern Lights that fills the northern sky with vivid colors...
